While you are saving money through strategic shopping and using coupons – you may also want to earn a little extra money on the side. I love the idea of making ANY money online because of the convenience. If you’re like me, being able to wear your pj’s is a plus!
There are a couple of ways to make money while staying in the comfort of your own home. Most of which you can do while watching t.v.
If you are new to Swagbucks, here is a fast overview to help you get the most.
Definition of Swagbucks
Swagbucks is an online rewards program. You can earn Swagbucks by searching the web with the Swagbucks Toolbar, entering Swagcodes from the SwagBlog, SwagFacebook, or SwagTwitter sites, and some other random activities like watching videos, taking daily polls or entering your birthday. Once you accumulate 450 Swagbucks, you can redeem it for a $5 Amazon gift card, as well as for other gift cards from Target, Starbucks, Southwest Airlines, and more. With not much effort at all, I earned $80 worth of Amazon gift cards for the year 2011. Which I might say, came in handy for Christmas! Some put in more effort and reap WAY better benefits than I did. 😉
Here are the tools you’ll need to earn Swagbucks faster.
The Swagbucks Tool Bar makes it easier to accumulate Swagbucks.
First, the toolbar does not slow down your internet or make you computer go all WONKY.
Second, you will earn at least 1 Swagbuck each day by opening your browser. Also, the toolbar makes it easier to get messages from “The Swag Guy” when there are codes available.
And finally, it allows you to do searches every now and again that can earn you Swagbucks. Like just now when I was typing this post, I searched Girls with coupons and was rewarded with eight Swagbucks!
Downloading the Toolbar
Step #1: Log in to your Swagbucks account.
Step #2: Click the Toolbars tab on the left side of the page.
Step #3: Click the big purple box that says “DOWNLOAD”.
Step #4: Choose if you want to use Swagbucks as your default browser. I don’t have it as my default browser – but know lots of people that do.
Step #5: Start searching.
Swagbucks Facebook Page
Follow Swagbucks on Facebook. Because…
- The Swagbuck’s Facebook page often has tips from users on “search” words to use that will trigger Swagbucks.
- Often there are codes that Facebook exclusive – and they are put in plain sight on the Facebook Wall.
- If there is a code somewhere else, like on the Swagbucks Blog, other users will let you know.
Swagbucks on Twitter
Follow Swagbucks on Twitter. Because…
- When a Swagcode becomes “live” you will know within a few minutes on Twitter (instead of hours later) because everyone tweets or retweets.
- Every Thursday Swagbucks play Swagbucks Trivia on Twitter for BIG Swagbuck amounts. It’s fun, it’s easy, and you could win enough Swagbucks to pay for your Christmas.
- You can also get extra Swagbucks when you “tweet” when you won Swagbucks through your searches.
Sign Up for Swagbucks
But you can’t earn, unless you sign up for Swagbucks.
Something similar to Swagbucks is SuperPoints!
With Superpoints, you get a daily chance to spin their lucky wheel for points. You can also do surveys, watch videos or take advantage of offers. I only spin the lucky wheel mostly because that’s all I have time for and sometimes have my kids spin it for me. You’ll also get one email daily with free points in it. Sometimes it’s one or two, other times, 5, 10 or 25! If you get your friends to sign up under you, you earn points from them. I like SuperPoints! It’s easy and doesn’t take a lot of thought! If you’d like to start earning points right away, you can sign up for SuperPoints HERE!
Another avenue to consider making money online is doing Surveys!
I use Valued Opinions. I’ve been using them for months and even though I don’t do surveys everyday, I do like them. I may not be accepted for every survey however, after a few months I was able to start being accepted for surveys that can earn me $50 so the time I put in making $3 here and there totally paid off. They even have surveys for your teenagers if you have them living in your home.
Once you have built $20 in your account, you can cash it in for gift cards to use with a variety of vendors like Amazon.com, Macys, Visa and more. I usually let my amount site through the year, then use it for Christmas gifts.
When you sign up with
you’ll create an account and fill out personal profile so they can tell which surveys are best for you. Even if you don’t complete your personal profile, you’ll still get email updates letting you know you have a survey to try to get accepted for. I’m glad they do that because I need those reminders since I don’t go on their site unless I’m prompted.
~*This next section is for bloggers who want to monetize your blogs.~
Let’s face it. Running a blog isn’t easy or cheap. As a blogger I can tell you that the time put into running a blog should be compensated, especially if you’re giving your readers valuable information. All bloggers need to monetize it in one way or another to cover the many expenses a blog an generate. There are TONS of affiliate programs out there. Some pay well and in a timely manner, others not so much.
Here are a couple of my favorites.
Escalate Media is a fantastic affiliate to work with, especially if you have a coupon/money saving blog like mine. They pay every month if you hit a thresh hold of $25. You also get timely emails of the latest offers for your readers and reminders of when offers are expiring. I like this because you know in advance when to take them off your blog.
LinkShare.com is another great affiliate because they offer hundreds of businesses to work with with thousands of different banners and text links to fit the style of your blog and the needs of your readers. You will have to be accepted by many of the affiliated businesses before you can begin. Some accept you right away. I appreciate the variety.
Now you can earn extra money online with these tips. Enjoy!
